Verrucole fortress, located near San Romano in Garfagnana, in the tiny village of Verrucole, is one of the most interesting and best preserved examples of medieval military buildings of the Garfagnana region. The structure is placed on top of a long and narrow hill.today, the fortress houses the “Archeopark”: a real interactive area where costumed guides will accompany visitors to discover the secrets of the old buildings and of the medieval lifestyle.
