Heading for Connemara? Cong is a picturesque village en route as you head across the top of the Corrib. As well as the beautiful ancient abbey grounds, there's high-end Ashford Castle and Pat Cohan's Bar, an excellent pub restaurant that features prominently (along with the rest of the village) in the John Wayne/Maureen O'Hara film, The Quiet Man.

As a fan of The Quiet Man, a visit to Pat Cohan's is a must but make a booking. Great food, a charming setting, and the prices are fair lunch and dinner. The service was great and the food was of a very high standard. A very enjoyable dining experience... +353 94 954 5620
