The best way to see the Statue of Liberty and downtown Manhattan and it's free! Just take the ferry to Staten Island and turn right around and take the ferry back.

Skip the lines and admission fee of the Statue of Liberty and instead take the free roundtrip ferry cruise to Staten Island. There are museums there, or you can just stay on and ride right back.

Take this ferry as an alternative or in addition to visiting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. A short 15 minute bus ride in Staten Island will take you to Snug Harbor.
