La barra is "the other side" of town. In my personal opinion, it is even more beautiful than Punta del Este itself, it has a more relaxed and chill vibe, and this is reflected not only on the architecture/houses, but also on he pubs, bars and shops. Here you can see a bit more of the surf vibe of Punta del Este.
