The university is set in beautiful grounds overlooking the Swan River at Crawley Bay. The original university buildings were built over a century ago. Also home of the Somerville Outdoor Theatre, a popular spot on summer evenings for watching films and enjoying a picnic and a glass of wine, the Octagon Theatre, and the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery. Venue for the Perth Writers' Festival in February and other Festival of Perth events.
