This is right across the street! In a nutshell: Kalepolepo Beach Park is a historically significant Hawaiian fishpond and a quiet beach for those staying in the area. Minuses: Out of the way for the bulk of visitors staying further South. Sound-bite: "It's nice to have what feels like your own private beach." The grassy lawn has BBQs and picnic tables. Kalepolepo Beach Park is a small, family-friendly beach park in South Kihei on the Hawaiian island of Maui. The ancient fish pond was formed using lava rock, creating a shallow wading pool that has become popular for families with small children. Family friendly beach - great for little kids because it’s protected by rock walls. Often turtles perched on the walls, but look closely because they really blend in!
A great beach to take young kids-- this is an historic fishpond with calm, shallow waters protected by a rock wall. Also a great place to see napping sea turtles (safely from a distance).
Get away from the busy touristy beaches! This is a great beach to spot turtles in the morning. The rock wall creates a calm swimming area that's great for kids.
