Matilda 159 Domain is a fantastic dining destination located in a charming heritage building in South Yarra. The menu offers a range of modern Australian and Mediterranean dishes, all made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. For starters, the stracciatella with broad bean and wild garlic and the baby octopus with basil and nduja consommé are highly recommended. For mains, the potato gnocchi with garden pea and lemon myrtle and the Humpty Doo barramundi with cider butter, bacon bits, and warrigal greens are delicious options. For a truly indulgent experience, the 45-day dry-aged porterhouse on the bone with smoked bone marrow is a must-try. In addition to the main dishes, Matilda 159 Domain also offers a range of snacks and sides, including burnt bran sourdough with cultured butter, Yarra Valley salmon roe tartlet with bonito cream, and dressed Fraser Island spanner crab with prawn butter and flatbreads. For dessert, the apple tarte tatin with caramel and vanilla ice cream and the Jivara 40% ganache with bergamot and burnt eucalyptus ice cream are both excellent choices.
