The church was erected in 1783 in ( the previous stone church was fully destroyed by a large fire happened in 1733, just stone walls left after it). Five domed church was designed in Ukrainian Baroque style. The main sight of the temple is its belfry erected in honor to Alexandr the First and to commemorate the victory of Russian troops over Napoleon in Patriotic war in 1812. The construction lasted till 1844. The building was created by university architect Vasiliev in Classical Style
