Agia Galini is a large village, which occupies the extreme SE. end of Rethymno regional unit to the Libyan Sea. Located at the limits of Heraklion prefecture, built amphitheatrical on an east faced rocky extreme, and it has a great environment and a wonderful climate. You will have many options for, food, entertainment, banks, shops etc. Agia Galini is built on the slopes of a high mountain, near the mouth of the River Platys or Amarianos, which starts from the village Thronos and has water all year round. Η Αγία Γαλήνη βρίσκεται 61χλμ νοτιοανατολικά του Ρεθύμνου και 68χλμ νοτιοδυτικά του Ηρακλείου, βρίσκεται δηλαδή στη νότια Κρήτη περίπου στο μέσο του νησιού. Η Αγία Γαλήνη, με το περίεργο αλλά και ταιριαστό όνομα, είναι ένα μικρό δαιδαλώδες χωριό χτισμένο αμφιθεατρικά με άσπρα σπιτάκια, που περιτριγυρίζεται από τρία βουνά, το όρος Ασιδέρωτο, τον Κέδρο και τον Ψηλορείτη, και ανοίγει σε ένα όμορφο και γραφικό λιμανάκι που είναι ιδιαίτερα πολυσύχναστο και γεμάτο κίνηση κατά τους καλοκαιρινούς μήνες. Τα μικρά και παλιά σπίτια του χωριού φαίνεται να στριμώχνονται από τα πιο μεγάλα διαμερίσματα που ξεφυτρώνουν τώρα στην περιοχή, αλλά και τα ξενοδοχεία στην Αγία Γαλήνη, που προσπαθούν να καλύψουν τις αυξημένες ανάγκες διαμονής για τους επισκέπτες. Η Αγία Γαλήνη είναι διάσημο παραθεριστικό μέρος με καλή παραλία, ένα από τα πρώτα μέρη που αναπτύχθηκαν τουριστικά στη νότια Κρήτη.
