Toronto Music Garden is one of the city's most magical locations on the waterfront, designed in collaboration with cellist Yo-Yo Ma. The landscape expresses Bach's Suite No 1 for Unaccompanied Cello, from the Prelude – conveying the feeling of a river flowing through a stream – to the Gigue – inspired by an English dance where spirited music is interpreted as a series of giant grass steps that offer harbor views.

Designed by cellist Yo Yo Ma, this small but masterfully crafted garden is located at Toronto’s waterfront beside Lake Ontario. The garden is an interpretation of Bach's Suite No. 1 in G Major for unaccompanied cello, BWV 1007. The garden has many surprising spots for rest and leisure. Pick up an ice cream at one of the shops nearby, sit on the grass or Muskoka chairs to watch Torontonians pass by. Soak in the sun and fresh lake air. There are plenty of private benches hidden away under the foliage of the sweeping trees. On Sunday afternoons, between June-September, there are free concerts for all to enjoy.
