The Heads is a safe and very popular neighborhood for locals and visitors alike. The East Head Café is a wonderful spot for breakfast and lunch. During Covid times they are operating at restricted hours so check their opening times. Great Beach and swimming: Under Milkwood. Walk down the stairs to the right of East Head Café. Quick walk close by: Turn left out the front door @ Beacon House and and follow the path to the end of the Heads and back. ViewPoint: Unless you like walking uphill, drive to the top of the Heads behind you and park at the Viewpoint (signposted and a car attendant in a red jacket will be keen for your business for a small tip) from where you can stroll and enjoy various viewpoints. ConeyGlen beach is also easily accessibly at the bottom of the hill on the open ocean side of the Heads. Ggreat for picnics, tanning and paddling but please do not swim due to rip currents.

The east and west buttress guards the channel between the Atlantic ocean and the lagoon. There is a view point at the top of the East head and a restaurant at the bottom where one can view the occasional yacht passing through the heads.

The best place to take in the Knysna Heads. Short drive up the hill and a little walk to the viewpoint.
