Brant point is a very small but powerful symbol of Nantucket. It greets you as you enter the harbor area and is there to bid you farewell. The tradition is to throw a penny toward the lighthouse on your departure to assure a safe return. Located right next to the Coast Guard base, it is a great place to watch the boat traffic and get some great pictures.
Bring a lunch and watch the boats sail in and out of the harbor. Iconic local and wedding photo opportunities. A great place to bring a fishing pole as well as porgies are plentiful and you can catch an occassional striper or blue fish.
