Great local hike with wonderful views towards Zion. short hike, with some areas of loose gravel or fallen rock, not alot of elevation change.

Named for the water fall that flows out of the side of the cliff, this trail is a local favorite. The trail provides spectacular views of Zion National Park and beyond. The water that flows over the falls is supplied by Navajo Lake through an underground lava tube or sink hole. The water flows a couple miles underground through the tube before exiting at the Virgin River Rim. (Please note, the lava tube is closed to travel due to the low levels of oxygen and high water flows.) Cameras are a must!

Short, easy hike from trailhead to waterfall. Cascade Falls is a waterfall in Dixie National Forest. Water drains through sinkholes in the east end of the lake and flows through underground lava tubes before reappearing as Cascade Falls. To reach the Cascade Falls trailhead from Cedar City (I-15 exits 57, 59 and 62), drive east on Utah State Route 14 for 25.3 miles, turn right onto Navajo Lake Road (Forest Road 053), then immediately turn left onto a dirt road (Forest Road 054) and follow signs to the trailhead. Alternatively, turn right from SR-14 at Duck Creek Visitor Center to another dirt road while again following signs to Cascade Falls. Provided that the access roads to the trailhead are passable, it is a short and easy 0.6-mile hike to a viewing platform at the end of the trail from where to view the waterfall as water flows out from an opening in the rock wall. The amount of water flowing over Cascade Falls depends on the amount of snow accumulated in winter.

This is a 1.2 mile out and back trail, perfect for the whole family and pets. The best time to see the falls is spring or early summer. As soon as the snow melts off.

Cascade Falls is the outlet for Navajo Lake. Water shoots out of a rock that you can see while standing on the man made look out deck. Close enough to feel the mist! Pending on each years snowfall the falls water flow intensity varies. The hike is 20 min. from the village while it doesn't have a lot of elevation change it may have some steep areas with loose rock.
