Learn about the life of Jack London, author of White Fang, Call of the Wild and many other stories, at the Jack London Museum. Tucked in a quiet corner of Dawson City, this quaint museum is dedicated entirely to his life and writings. Browse through historical archives and photographs while learning about his adventures before, during and after the Klondike Gold Rush. You will also learn about the Dawson historian and local First Nations guides who set out into the bush to locate the cabin lived in by London during the winter of 1897. Take a peek inside a replica cabin, built from half of the original logs and furnished with objects fit for a stampeder. The other half of the logs are in Oakland, California, where he spent much of his life. The museum is operated by the Klondike Visitor’s Association and staffed by knowlegable volunteers who are passionate about history and literature. There are short film screenings and a selection of his books translated into many different languages. Explore the museum on your own, or visit during one of our interactive and informative presentations.
