Another great place for a quick hike. It can be very hot during the summer due to the Lava rock that forms the butte but spring, fall, and summer evenings are a great time to visit.

The Menan Butte, or the "R" mountain, is just 14 miles west of Rexburg. It's a great morning hike to take the family. Once on top of this extict volcano, you will have stunning views of the area from the Tetons, Sawtooth mountains to the Montana border. You can hike around the bowl and have a picnic.
