Try something new - Go take a gentle but super fun West Coast Swing dance lesson on Friday night and stay for the dance after! You can learn a few good basic steps and dance with a lot of people, since everybody stands in a circle and the girls rotate (or is it the guys) and so you get a new dance partner every few minutes during the lesson. Very friendly and a great way to meet locals. It's as good if you're a couple! About $14. Sometimes there's a live band, sometimes a dj - both are good.

Victoria's not so secret spot for locals, but if you want to try something different, Red Hot Swing has a free lesson in the first hour. Dancing goes on till 12:30 in the morning. It is a family oriented event--no alcohol, non-gender biased, multi-generational hangout for joyful dancing.
