Oktogon is an important crossing point of different public transports: tramway 4 and 6 (going all the way of the boulevard to catch Buda at both ends) underground (yellow line) going to Vörösmarty square, and trolleys. Oktogon is a spot to reach Nagymező utca, Andrássy út, the Opera House, or even the Heroes square on foot.
