If you have never seen the Elephant Seals, make time to do so. Located 53 miles northwest of URGH and just a few miles north of Hearst Castle, you will not regret the stop. We have been there a dozen times, each a different season. A great deal goes on from one part of the seal season to the next throughout the year. The state has gone through a great deal of trouble building boardwalks on either side of the parking lot to get the best view of these large, fascinating sea life. Find one of the rangers to make the experience even more educational than you could imagine.
