Explore the authentic side of Montmartre with us, two locals and the founders of "Where should I go?" (an exclusive service that allows travelers to experience the city like a local). On a two-hour immersive walk, we'll take you where no other tour will take you: to the locals' Montmartre! You'll get a taste of true Parisian culture, including artisanal food and quirky boutiques - and you'll even meet local creatives and artisans. A heads up: this is not a historical or sightseeing tour. Think of it more as an afternoon with local friends showing you hidden gems in an unfamiliar part of the city. • We meet at a local bakery for pastries and an introduction before strolling through the charming neighborhoods of Jules Joffrin and Lamarck-Caulaincourt, discovering pretty streets and quaint residential squares, visiting Parisian fashion designers, a shop selling locally produced cheese, and a jam maker. • We continue along a lively market street, stopping at a caramel shop, a gin distillery, a design studio, a vintage designer boutique and a small hidden cemetery. • After the the tour, we can relax together at a hip coffee shop or wine bar (this part is optional, drinks not included) and talk more about life in Paris. Stroll along the Seine with me, a writer, a novelist, as I bring Paris’ rich literary history to life. You’ll follow in the footsteps of iconic characters and relive significant moments in literature while discovering the emblematic places that inspired them. • In the streets of Île de la Cité, I’ll recreate the Gothic atmosphere of 15th-century Paris through readings from The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, transporting you to the world of Quasimodo and Esmeralda in front of Notre-Dame itself. • Explore the Latin Quarter's history as a literary and philosophical hub, from Alexandre Dumas to the existentialists of the 20th century. I’ll bring to life the heated debates, smoky cafes, and intellectual energy that once filled these streets. You’ll leave with a unique literary understanding of the city, and the words of the greats echoing in your ears.

Deciphering The French Revolution & Napoleon's Rise to Power

In 1789 France entered a state of turmoil and, with it, so did the world. The French Revolution was an event of such magnitude from an ideological, political, and social standpoint that it forever changed our way of thinking. During the Revolution, key principles were established that continue to govern contemporary society: liberty, equality, the right to property, and fraternity. Always difficult to wrap our heads around, the French Revolution is nevertheless a logical and organic historical process, which we will begin to understand in the luxurious Place Vendome. Here, you will discover what absolutism truly means (and what it looks and feels like). Making our way to the Place de la Concorde (where many a poor soul lost their head) through the Tuilleries Gardens you will learn about the causes of the revolutionary outbreak, the first attempts at reform, and the radicalization that culminated in the Reign of Terror. Crossing Pont de la Concord, as we reach the National Assembly, we will disscuss the more moderate period of the Revolution: the Directory. At Les Invalides (Napoleon's final resting place) we will understand how he rose to power after more than a decade of revolution. Finishing at the Grand Palais and with a panoramic view of the Eiffel Tower, we will discover the true legacy French Revolution and how it changed the world for ever!
