Walk through Key West tales
We start off at Mallory Square and learn its history as busy seaport 200 years ago. Right Next to it is Truman's White House that hosted more than one president. We later move on and walk down Whitehead and see the popular landmarks such as mile 0 of US1 highway, Earnest Hemingway house, Key West lighthouse. Off the beaten path we get a glimpse of colorful Bahama Village , a church founded by a freed slave, and the first Bar on US1 highway and first Grocery Store On our way back to the starting point we walk down Duval street and stop by at a few of my favorite spots for refreshments . we also get to see San Carlos institute, the Cradle of Cuban revolution, a hotel where Hemingway had and affair with his future wife, the first episcopal church of South Florida with its gorgeous stained glass windows, the oldest house of Key West, the clothing optional bar. The last stop before return will be THE world's FAMOUS Captain Tony's saloon with its unique Key West atmosphere and lots of tales about its history, from the hanging tree to mafia related Key West mayor! Other things to note please let me know what interests you more in Key West history and I will focus on it during our tour.
Sunset Kayak Cruise on the Gulf
Blue Moon Kayak Key West is the only Kayak Company on the North Side of Stock Island in Key West. This gives us a unique location for a Sunset experience. Meet me at our Sunset Marina Ship Store at our launch time (typically 45 min- 1hr before sunset). Please note the marina has no guest parking, so please take an uber or rideshare. If you have a car, parking is available on College Rd. You will have a chance to use the restroom before we hit the water. Once we are on the water we will paddle East towards Key Haven and turn around to watch the sunset over Fleming Key. We may also here the cruise ships horns blow as they leave port too! Feel Free to bring a small cooler if you want to have a drink or snack while we watch the sun dip down. As the sun goes down we will start to look in the water for our glowing jellies! When we get back it will be dark, but we will have lights on our kayaks for a safe journey back to the Marina. This is our easiest and shortest tour we offer in Key West and is great for all ages. Water is typically only 2-4 feet deep depending on the tides. Other things to note Kayaking is a watersport! So please come prepared to get wet. You may leave your shoes on our dock, but we have no secure place for valuables or gifts you may have bought throughout the day. Please leave them at home/in the hotel.
