Edinburgh weather means it’s not usually a beach for sunbathing, but Portobello beach has a lovely Victorian era charm, as well as various restaurants and bars along the seafront. Why not hire a Just Eat bike and take a scenic cycle through the park to the beach?

It’s a bit of a trek out of the city but reachable on public transport. Jupiter Artland is a fun day out (especially if it’s dry!) with loads of modern art installations.
