After several years of works, the spectacular bridge above the Cetina river canyon near Omiš is finally connected. This is an amazing construction located at 70 meters above sea level, and is part of a decades-long fast road between Trogir, Solin, Split and Omiš. Admittedly, traffic on the bridge will be possible only in the fall of this year. Check out below what the city of pirates, klapa songs and the king of active holidays in Dalmatia has to offer. A series of churches, city gates and squares are worth a tourist visit, but the main attractions are the fortresses that have protected the city from enemies for centuries. The 13th-century Mirabela fortress is located just above the old part of the city, as a permanent reminder of the glorious pirate past. The old pirates used Mirabela as a vantage point from which they oversaw the Brač Channel, so that the rich merchant ships near Omiš could not possibly go unnoticed.
