The playground consists of two playscapes – one for children between the ages of 2 and 5 years and a second for children ages 5-12 years. There are swings and slides, poles to climb, ladders to scale, beams to balance on, sand to dig and build upon and a cabin to hide in.

Kirk's Pond -
Next door to Oxford's Town Hall is Kirk's Pond which is a fishing pond for children under 15 only and is available for Ice Skating in the winter. Check the sign at the pond to see if there is "Skating Allowed" or "NO Skating Allowed" depending on how thick the ice is. Park at Town Hall. There is a gazebo next to the pond. Grab a hot chocolate to-go from Starbucks-at Market 32 or Southford Deli.

Southford Falls State Park is a public recreation area covering 126 acres in the towns of Oxford and Southbury, Connecticut. The state park offers fishing, hiking, waterfalls, and a covered bridge over Eight Mile Brook. This is a nice place for a picnic lunch with picnic tables provided along the water and the pavillion. Grab a lunch to go from Southford Deli & Store which is a minute further down the road at the corner of the stoplight. The park is free. There are restrooms (with composting toilets) at the parking area and the pavillion. Past the pavillion to the right is a nice hill for sledding in the winter.
