Walk-up counter service with wonderful Puerto Rican cuisine, usually purchased to go. They speak a little English, and are willing to communicate if you don't know Spanish. Our favorite meal: pollo entero (whole chicken), amarillo (sweet fried plantain and batata (steamed white sweet potato.) Enjoy!

We love to stroll to the Wyndham for a beverage in the evenings. They serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and the mango smoothies are great!

We always visit El Yunque, usually more than once during each stay. From nature centers to hiking, rope swings to nature spotting, there is something for everyone.

Vieques has beautiful beaches, and some snorkeling if you know where to look. There isn't as much competition for seats on the Vieques ferries compared to Culebra, so it's a little more relaxing in that way also. Rent a car from Maritza's Car Rental so you can visit some of the more out-of-the-way places.

I read that Ponce is like Old San Juan before the cruise ships started coming. It's got a small, quaint downtown, plenty of museums and great art for sale (especially masks). Great ice cream in the square, and yummy food carts.
