This is the closest park to the house. Actually, our house is geographically in the middle of three of Spokane's prettiest parks. Cliff Park is small, but a neat little stairway takes you up to the top of a basalt column. A trail leads you all the way around the column. To finish your walk, stroll down Sumner Avenue to take a look at the prettiest historic houses in Spokane.

Cliff Park is small, but a neat little stairway takes you up to the top of a basalt column. A trail leads you all the way around the column. Riverfront Park is wonderful! The Centennial Trail that runs through the park goes all the way to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho! The new Skate Ribbon is fun for roller blading in the Spring/Summer, Ice Skating in the Winter. Stop at the Carousel for good old fashioned fun, or simply enjoy a beautiful walk around the park.

Southern food...I know...why get Southern Food in Spokane? Well, it is sort of a southern hybrid, but the patio is very nice, and it is easy walking distance from Riverfront Park. The craft brew selection is quite good, too!

This is not the closest grocery store, but it's the cutest. Don't be fooled by the gas pumps out front, this is an interesting gourmet grocer and deli. Great wines, beer, flowers, cheeses, snacks, coffees, baked goods and more. It's amazing what they're able to cram into this tiny store.
