Excellent shop with hand-roasted fair-trade coffees. Perfect for a coffee snob's caffeine boost. Swing in for the perfect fair trade house roast, or our favorite: a cold jar.

You're just a few blocks away from authentic Italian dinners, gelato and pastries. They're worth the short walk though the walk back might be a little tougher after you eat your weight in gelato. Yum!

The Millworks has it all! Farm-to-table menu, oven-fired pizza, PA craft beer, now their own brewery(!), live music, bespoke cocktails; all surrounded by artist studios which is all housed inside an old mill-work factory building. Don't forget to look up at the monster beams holding everything together! Great for groups or singles alike. Make a day of it by visiting the Broad Street Market next door. Enjoy!

note. bistro & winebar, located in the heart of midtown Harrisburg, at the corner of Harris and 2nd Streets, is a 1910 Victorian home that has been repurposed into a warm and inviting establishment. Owners Ruth Prall and Michael Giblin strive to make note. a comfortable “neighborhood” gathering place for local residents, as well as a destination for the neighboring West Shore, York, Hershey, and Carlisle communities. note. features a menu that pairs European inspired cuisine with a modern flair with an interesting and eclectic (and growing!) wine list. Chef Thomas Heidt oversees a seasonally changing menu that spotlights fresh ingredients prepared from scratch as well as inspired and creative daily specials.

Zeroday is a mere few blocks walk. What more needs said really? Well, I guess it's also awesome that it's attached to the Indie Reilly Street Theatre and they typically have live music and/or food trucks hanging out in the parking lot. Wait, you've never had a crowler? This is your chance! Grab a couple of these 32 oz vessels of tasty brew and take them back to Kelker Haus to kick it on the back deck.

Parks & Nature

Riverfront Park is a public park that runs parallel to the Susquehanna River between shoreline and Front Street, from Vaughn Street South to Paxton Street. The park is popular among locals and visitors for its spectacular views of the river, City Island, Wormleysburg, and Blue Mountain. The park offers year-round outdoor activities including exercise stations, bike lanes, and trails for joggers and hikers, and features the Walnut Street Bridge—a popular pedestrian walkway that connects Harrisburg’s downtown and Riverfront Park with City Island. Riverfront Park also hosts many of Harrisburg’s yearly festivals and events such as Kipona, American MusicFest, Woodstock Festival, and Harrisburg’s Gay Pride Festival. Pro tip: you can catch fireworks from City Island baseball from the shore of the river + Kelker Street most nights in the summer.
