My top pick for a special dinner in the bubble. It’s bustling, it’s noisy and the staff run around like crazy things, but this all adds to the experience. Their fish pie with a side of truffle mash is always a favourite. They are one of very few places that still do BYO wine (although corkage is $12 per bottle) and they bring amazing little chocolate brownie bites with the bill. (Mains approx. $32. Breakfast is also excellent)

As the name suggests, these guys specialise in piadinas, an Italian flatbread filled with cheese, meat & veggies (approx. $16). Also have yummy little Nutella piadinas.

Drinks & Nightlife

Head to "Rats" for million dollar views, cheap beer and a good bistro. Try your luck winning a meat tray in the club draw. Although they are both ‘members’ clubs, you can sign in as a visitor so long as you live at least 5km away. Bring ID.

Shopping

Saturday is Farmers Market - As well as fresh fruit and veggies, there is a huge range of delicious food stalls serving everything from Swiss raclette to Vietnamese rolls to enchiladas. There’s often live music, and plenty of space for kids to run around. My tip – My Saturday morning ritual is to get an ‘Egyptian’ from The Fritter House (Corn fritters, halloumi, grilled mushrooms and other yumminess) then head to The Chai Tent to enjoy them with a mug of freshly brewed soy chai. Sunday Bondi Market takes over at the school. Many of Sydney’s leading fashion brands started out as a stall at this market, and you’ll see why – So long as the weather hasn’t deterred people, the place is oozing with exciting fashion and accessories, as well as perfect gifts.
