Close to our neighborhood is Blue Water Bar and Grill. You can walk from the house down the beach to their dune crossover if you’re up for a mile walk. Or you can make the short drive. Their fried food is good and you can order takeout. They have great drinks!

It’s right beside Seven Seas Grocery, which sells fresh gulf shrimp by the pound that you can cook at home.
Waterman’s Restaurant is a cozy seafood eatery and bar with expansive decks overlooking Galveston Bay. They have a low-key upscale ambiance for lunch or dinner and it’s a fantastic spot to watch the sun set. Their good is quite good.

If you’d like a nice restaurant in Historic Galveston (steaks and seafood) we highly recommend Rudy and Paco (get a reservation and men are required to wear long pants!). It’s the only five-star restaurant in this part of Texas.

At more than 10 miles long and 17 feet high, Galveston’s seawall is the longest continuous sidewalk in the country and the world’s longest mural. Today, the iconic Seawall Boulevard is a happening place for beachgoers and serves as a gorgeous backdrop to a variety of shops, restaurants, attractions and gear rental stores—but this was not always the case. After the Great Storm of 1900 leveled Galveston, its resilient community devoted years of effort to raise the island and build the protective seawall that stands here today. Now, runners, cyclists, skaters and surrey riders decorate the seawall, inviting visitors to join in the fun.

Hit all the rides and check out the dining available on the pier, including funnel cakes, turkey legs, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, and more. Adults can also cool off with a beer, margaritas, or wine!
