Great social vibe at this place. Almost too many beers on tap (can there really be too many) from many local Northern Michigan Breweries. (I quite like the Clam Lake Loggers Daughter). AND great pizza. Within 10 minute walk from the Cadillac Hub. Nice stroll to/from on the streets of Cadillac.

If you want a great lakeside dining experience, this is it. It can be a bit on the pricey side for Cadillac, but you can't beat the view and atmosphere. They've put a lot of remodel work into the restaurant and grounds over the last couple of years. Nice up and coming restaurant.

A Cadillac visit is not complete without a stop at The Sweet Shop. Over 100 types of handmade candies and Northern Michigan Moomers Ice Cream as well. (try the Snowbirds!) Nice 10 min stroll from The Cadillac Hub. Just enough time to finish your cone!

Agreed! It's not much to look at from the outside, and the inside is standard as well. But, it's a nice local sports bar that has decent food and is just an overall fun spot to mix in a bit. You can see the back entrance 1 block away from the Cadillac Hub. Less than 90 seconds to walk there, and if you have a couple to many, perhaps a few extra seconds to stumble back.. (but no driving required!) I always go for a burger or a burrito!

Local favorite and out of towners always make a point to come back here. Wonderful view of Lake Mitchell, great patio (if you can get a spot). Interior decor is fun and food is great. This is a must do.

This is a Cadillac must do for breakfast. Sure, doesn't look like much, but the local atmosphere, food, and service make it a comeback spot for sure. (normally large portions, wear your loose pants)

During the Summer (Tues and Fri), the Farmers Market is an easy walk for you to get some local homegrown goodness! Picked fresh produce and foods. Lots of local artisans, food trucks and more! Check out the Maker's Market in front of After 26 depot for Northern Mi crafts and arts as well.

Great place with an even more incredible mission. In the state of Michigan, people with developmental disabilities age out of public schools at 26-years-old and that means they are left with little to no structure, guidance, or even hobbies. This is where the After 26 Depot steps in to help. Stop by for a great breakfast or lunch and an even greater contribution to those that want to work and contribute to the community.

To Do and See

Some of our favorite things to get out and do in the area!
One of our favorite hiking spots is to get on the North Country Trail at Red River Bridge (N. Coates Hwy, Harrietta). Hike North on the loop up to Hodenpyl Dam - (suspension bridge is cool) and then back. ~1.5 - 2 hour hike. This is about a 35 minute drive from the Cadillac Hub. Spectacular views, although a pretty hilly/aggressive hike at times. Also the High Roll-Away section of trail is something to see in the fall. We can help you get there as well. That's a bit more tricky.

Learn about the mystery of the channel between Lake Cadillac and Lake Mitchell. Nice area to take a walk in the summer or even some of the snowshoe trails in the winter. Biking or even walking the path around Lake Cadillac is a true favorite. It's about 7 miles I believe. A few odd years back, we'd even roller blade around (Yikes, dating ourselves)

We did this for years with our kids. Yes, there is still a drive in, and it's like you remembered so many years ago. This is about a 55 min drive from the Cadillac Hub. We'd normally head up to Frankfurt in the late afternoon and play at the beach a bit, then head to the drive in around 8-9pm. I won't mislead you... it makes for one super late night and gives you something the family will talk about forever. *Open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend

The famous VASA! About 45 minute drive to the main trail head. The Vasa Pathway features a series of loops (3K, 5K, 10K, 25K) that offer users a variety of challenges from easy to difficult. Cross-country skiers, runners, hikers, mountain bikers, walkers, and naturalists enjoy the Vasa Pathway. It is the home of the North American Vasa cross-country ski race, and the annual Iceman Cometh mountain bike race uses a portion of the trail.

Within a few blocks west of the Cadillac Hub. The sound garden is an exciting area for kids and adults alike. It is also on the Clam River Greenway, which is a 1.6 mile walk starting at Lake Cadillac and winds through the community along the Clam River. Caberfae Scenic Overlook has a nice view, primarily to the west, of wooded hills, and the nearby Caberfae Ski Area. Stairs and a ramp lead up to the observation deck providing an extra elevation view across the Caberfae area. This is a wonderful site for fall color viewing.
