For a romantic evening, or just something a touch on the classier side, check out Surekha's on the Snye. Outdoor dining with a river view in the summertime. The food is consistently incredible, and they have a pretty decent drink menu too. They also have a really good all-day breakfast menu. Who doesn't love breakfast for supper? Come on!

Take a drive north to do some sight-seeing, drive by Suncor and Syncrude, the two major oil sands sites, stop and see the Giants of Mining and Bison Park on the way back to town.

A long northbound 7% grade that makes a mess of big rigs in the winter time. Hence the name. If you make the drive north to see the sites, make sure to take in the scenery on the way back south when you hit the top of Supertest. It's a gorgeous view of the city.

If you're up for the drive, this is a nice day use area of Gregoire Lake Provincial park that has a beach (shallow and warm, great for kids) outdoor fire pits and a large grassy area for picnics, and a nice playground. *Note* The swimming area is unsupervised.
