Amazing brunch menu. Highly recommend. Also a great spot to just grab a coffee and maybe a cheeky pastry.

This is a convenient little cheap eat. If you're after something quick, tasty and on the cheaper end of the budget this is a good spot. I like their fried dumplings and green beans with chilli.

South Australia has some of the best food and wine in the world. A great way to sample this locally is by paying a visit to the Adelaide Central Market. You can pick up some beautifully fresh produce for your stay or enjoy a meal at one of the vendors.

If you're into whiskey this is the place for you. NOLA has over 200 whiskeys to choose from. I recommend trying the Buffalo Trace and/or Rebel Yell. Not that into whiskey? Don't worry, they also have beer, wine and cocktails. This trendy bar also offers a New Orleans inspired menu.

Whether you're travelling solo or with the family, Glenelg is worth a visit. Take the tram or hop in the car and park a few streets back from the beach and go for a stroll along the esplanade and jetty.

If you've got a car with you and are looking for a day at the beach, head south to Port Willunga. One of Adelaide's beautiful beaches, with less crowds. Don't forget the sunscreen!

A quaint town in the Adelaide Hills, Hahndorf is rich in German culture. A great little day trip to explore cafe's and boutique stores along the main stretch. No car, no worries - a public bus goes to Hahndorf. Just bring up google maps for details, and hop off at the main street. If you've got a car, you can head a little further up the main stretch and visit Beerenberg Farm. Here, you can pick your own strawberries, visit their cafe or purchase some of their range of yummy jams, chutneys and sauces

The Barossa Valley is one of SA's world famous wine regions. Stop in at a couple of wineries and sample some of the worlds best wine, pay a visit to Maggie Beer's farm or just enjoy the scenery and enjoy the local produce. There are some lovely wineries to enjoy a platter for lunch, or if you'd like to treat yourself I recommend Harvest Kitchen (you'll probably need a booking). If you've got kids with you Barossa Bowland offers tenpin bowling and mini golf, with yummy woodfired pizzas on offer. It's a nice reward for the kids after a few hours of tagging along at the wineries.

If you're new to Australia or just want a day out with the kids, the Big Rocking Horse is my hot tip for getting up close to local animals including Kangaroos, wallabies and emus. The big rocking horse boasts, well, the biggest rocking horse in the world, but it also has a small wildlife park. Entry is only $2 per person (as at March 2022), and you can purchase a bag of food to feed the animals. Pack a picnic to eat on the grounds or enjoy lunch at a cafe in Gumeracha. If you'd like to get up close an personal with a cuddly Koala, then look into Cleland Wildlife Park - however, it's a lot more expensive at $30 per adult. Also note that the Koala experience may not be operational during COVID.
