This (not so little) gem is one of the best-kept secrets in the Catskills. About 10 years ago, Port Jervis started building out hiking and mountain biking trails, and the whole community got involved. You can spend multiple days exploring these trails on foot or on bike - dogs are welcome and there's good elevation changes to get your heart rate pumping.

About 10 years ago, Port Jervis started building out hiking and mountain biking trails, and the whole community got involved. Opened in 2021, Barryville General brings a bit of Hamptons-Chic to our quaint corner of the Catskills. It's filled with healthy/organic/all-natural products and carries local meats, cheeses, and veggies. They have a great beer selection and are the perfect place to stop in for a sandwich before a long hike.
Pro tip - their items, while super nice, are pretty pricey, so if you forget a toothbrush or are looking for cheap beer - there's a gas station right across the bridge in Shohola, PA that might be a better option
