This is the most hipster most historic part of town. It’s full of Victorian and craftsmen style homes, some new and some old! The area is full of hip bars eateries, boutique shops. Lots of hills and bike paths cross through here too.

Sightseeing

This park is bigger than Central Park in Manhattan, half of it is a golf course. There decent wooded hike and bike trails, a running track that is the place to see and be seen.

This is one of the four most private art galleries in the states and certainly in Houston. It’s free all the time plus it has lovely grounds and some nearby attractions like the Rothko chapel among others.

Groceries

H-E-B is probably one of the best grocery stores there is an certainly in this area that has the best selection of foods and supplies overall. You can also buy wine and beer there but not liquor

Trader Joe’s is a special grocery store with a focus on imported items and lots of good deals with some quirky selections. One of my favorite things there though is three Buck Chuck wine. from here it’s about two blocks north. Walk to Shepard turn north cross west Alabama and then walk past Whole Earth Provisions and you’ll find Trader Joe’s.

Well we have H-E-B and Trader Joe’s there are still things you can only get at Whole Foods. They offer more things than trader Joe’s, and are a closer walk than H-E-B. They also take Amazon returns!
