A quite big mall (for this kind of rather small town); here you find everything, grocery stores, clothes shops, consumer electronics retailer, drugstores, pharmacies, restaurants etc. You can easily access the mall by public transport taking the tram and exit one stop before reaching train station ("Gmundner Keramik"). You find the mall on your right hand side (check for green signpost reading SEP). There are plenty of parking lots if you come by car.

Getting Around

This is the train station of Gmunden, which connects to regional trains to Attnang-Puchheim (from there connection to Salzburg, Linz, Vienna etc.) respectively further into Salzkammergut (Bad Ischl, Hallstadt etc.) The tram to us (and the center of town) starts here!

There is a cable car in a walking distance of around 10 minutes from our place which accesses the Grünberg. Besides some really nice hiking tracks above on the mountain you find the recently opened treetop trail (Baumwipfelpfad). If you interested in doing both at once, go for a discounted combined ticket (cable car + treetop trail).

There is a cable car in a walking distance of around 10 minutes from our place which accesses the Grünberg. Besides some really nice hiking tracks above on the mountain you find the recently opened treetop trail (Baumwipfelpfad). If you interested in doing both at once, go for a discounted combined ticket (cable car + treetop trail).

Entertainment & Activities

THE big public beach (free) in Gmunden; even on hot summerdays you´ll always find a place to unroll your towel... If it´s just for a quick dipp into the water, you can access the lake Traun right around the corner of our house (half way from bridge to our house there is a boat slip which can be used as access for swimming)!
