Beautiful Provençale Villages

Collobrieres is a beautiful typical Provençal village with little restaurants perched upon a steam. It is the capital of chestnuts and the ice-cream and products are delicious. There is a tiny market on Sundays (mostly local produce not clothes) and it is fun to go and have breakfast or lunch there. Just outside the village is an 11 century monastery which can be visited with an entrance fee.

Bormes les Mimosas is classed as one of the most beautiful flowered villages in France. It extends its territory both by the sea and in the overhanging land a few kilometers from the beaches where its old village stands proudly like a Provencal crib. You can visit its old village on the hill filled with authentic little shops and restaurants. The best time to visit Bormes for the beauty of the Mimosas is in February, but all year round it is worth a detour.

Porquerolles is one of the Golden Islands and very beautiful. You take a ferry from the Tour Fondue and you can hire bikes to visit the Island. Well worth a visit.
