Dolphin beach is located 11 km from the capital of the island, North from the village of Kini and it is an ideal choice for those who want to avoid the winds and enjoy their swim with all comforts available. Bathers can relax on sun loungers under the shade of an umbrella or enjoy unique specialties in the nearby taverns overlooking the enchanting landscape. One can reach the beach by following the road to Kini and then continue on the coastal road or by sea with a private boat.

The picturesque fishing village of Kini is a tourist seaside village where guests can enjoy local flavors and aromas in taverns and cafes situated along the small port. From the golden beach one can distinguish the fishermen mooring their boats but also travel by boat to one of the small beaches in the North of the island and discover the beautiful beaches of Delfini and Lotos. Other places worth visiting in the area include the Catholic Church of the Virgin Mary, the monastery of Agia Varvara, the monument of the mermaid Virgin Mary in the harbor, the museum of the fishing vessels, the aquatic organisms and shellfish. Those who are fortunate enough to find themselves on the island on June the 29th, should attend the custom of the Fotaerides, a unique feast in honor of St. Peter just 9 km away from Hermoupoli at the village of Kini, a village becoming one of the main tourist attractions of the island.

The sandy beach of Megas Gialos is one of the largest beaches of the island and it is located in the south, only 12 km from Ermoupoli. It is favored by many as it offers easy access, protection from the winds, some tourist facilities and crystal-clear waters. Its privileged location in front of the homonymous settlement enables visitors to walk in the picturesque streets of the area, visit the chapel of St. Anthony and relax while drinking their coffee or enjoying local dishes in nearby taverns. The village also offers many choices for accommodation, car rental options and shops with basic necessities.

On the way to Posidonia and approximately 1 km after the beach of Mega Gialos one can find the beautiful, secluded and sheltered Abela beach. It is a beach with golden sand and crystal clear waters offering some umbrellas by the sea as well as some proposals for snacks, coffee and exquisite meals in the excellent restaurant located in the small village of the region. Just 12.5 km away from Ermoupoli, Abela beach offers a small oasis of peace and relaxation.

There’s nothing like the perfect setting when you’re looking for a great beach and Komito has it all: fine golden sand, clear blue waters, a great beach bar, and a tremendous view of the uninhabited islet of Strongylo which is shaped like a shark fin. Its siren song of idyllic vistas complemented by its amenities, make Komito an irresistible pole of attraction for both the locals and the visitors who flock to it. Although opinions differ on the subject, the beach owes its name either to the fall of a comet in the region or to the fact that it once was the headquarters of an Italian Comitato (Committee), something corroborated by the old mansion of Count Diakakis behind the beach. Komito does offer some amenities such as straw beach umbrellas and a lively beach bar. It is suitable for all ages and an excellent choice for windsurfers. Komito is also close to Posidonia and the beach of Agkathopes. Komito is about 1km and 15 km away from Agkathopes and Hermoupolis, respectively.

Fetouri is a small and quiet beach located in the southwest coast of Syros. It is found very close to Poseidonia, one of the most popular tourist resorts of the island. It is an organized beach with some accommodation around and a few nice taverns that line the coast. The green blue waters and the soft sand dot this wonderful environment. It is the ideal place for children due to the shallow waters and the distance from the crowded resort. Nearby are some beautiful calm coves like Komito and Agathopes.
