Parks!

Beckenham has about three parks, I've listed my favourites here, and there's also nearby parks that have historical interest! Definitely worth checking out if you love seeing some nature near the city.
this is a lovely large park with a cafe and pizzas. You can get a long walk in and go for ages in the trees, and there is even outdoor swimming available! There's also parkrun on Saturdays! Depending on the date, they sometimes do plays (which is amazing as the park is a 10 minute walk home!) or vintage markets or food stalls! So well worth a look!

Kelsey Park has fewer events but they have a good playground for kids and because of the water you can see a whole range of birds!

Crystal Palace is a great park with some really interesting features - you'll see models of dinosaurs from the Victorian era which have subsequently been provided outdated. There's also a maze and an outdoor concert area, a sports ground, a small animal area, and a cafe and restuarant. definitely worth checking out, or joining for the parkrun on Saturday!

Coffee or Brunch

We've spent a lot of time exploring coffee and brunch in Beckenham and these are our favourite pics! Most of the recommendations are vegetarian friendly but we've also noted where they are good for vegans
Ems kitchen is a nearby cafe which does large and nice coffee and brunch and lunch. I love the pannini with goats cheese and sun-dried tomatoes!

Shotsmiths do amazing coffee! They come up small but you wouldn't really notice as they're delicious. They're on the other side of the high street but if you're a coffee lover they are worth the walk!

Knole park is a national trust property which has plenty of deer and a beautiful open grounds to walk in. It also has a large house, but we love the deer!

Eltham Palace is an English Heritage historic palace with a pretty garden. It was actually brought by an extremely wealthy couple after it was used by the royal family which means you can see the old historic palace and the families wealthy mansion as well

Kent County Cricket Club, Beckenham
Worsley Bridge Road
this is such a cool experience, and if you turn up for a tour you'll see a massive cave complex absolutely full of history! There are druids, Romans, World War Two and some spooky stories! Definitely worth a visit - unless you're claustrophobic in which case maybe give it a miss!
