The region is dominated by the Shannon river. The river is usually slow moving, creating pleasant lakes. It is ideal for watersport, cycling, walking, ornithology and many more activities. Real Ireland at its best

In my opinion this walled garden is one of the best of its kind in Ireland. Under no circumstances should you forget to take a walk through the enchanted garden, which is the woodland behind the manor. Watch out for funky creatures such as elves etc.

Real Ireland. Simply how a real Irish medieval castle should look like.
It looks so unreal in the middle of Ireland. It reminds me of a windmill of Miguel de Cervantes's hero Dun Quijote. With some imagination you can see himself and Sancho Pancho attacking it from horseback (doneyback in case of Sancho Pancho).

Elphin Windmill
Windmill RoadIt looks so unreal in the middle of Ireland. It reminds me of a windmill of Miguel de Cervantes's hero Dun Quijote. With some imagination you can see himself and Sancho Pancho attacking it from horseback (doneyback in case of Sancho Pancho).
This brings you back in time, when the canals were the main arteries of commerce in Ireland in the middle of the 19th century. Richmond Harbour is just across the Shannon from Termonberry. Richmond Harbour is obviously connected connected by the ROYAL CANAL with the Shannon. Great place for kayaking, as the canal forms a loop with the Shannon river.
