These are my suggestions for local day trips. They are all places that I really enjoy visiting myself with family and friends.

A historic local favourite not to be missed. A rather stretching walk to the top but well worth it. The town is full of holistic craft and wellbeing goodies and folk type shopping. Cafes and vegan food choices are plentiful.

Treat yourselves and eat out. Here are a few recommendations.
South Cadbury village. Delicious menu at this very popular Pub, just look on their social media page! 6 miles from Dove Retreat. Very reasonable price range. Take a stroll up Cadbury Castle while your in the village. The iron age hillfort, said to have been a home of legendary King Arthur.

Mudford village, Nr Yeovil. These pictures don't do it justice, it has a lovely rural charm inside. Great food here. No bookings, just turn up. We eat here most often as it's just down the road, 3.5 miles approx.
