My fav cafes

At the end of a short beautiful walk along our local creek. Just go down to the end of Honeysuckle Grove, turn right, follow the creek and you will arrive! Especially recommend their late arvo early eve outdoor snacks, really really delicious. One of our faves.

Located in the very sweet little town of Aldgate, about a five minute drive away. Many people from the city come up here for a up market cafe stop. It’s very nice food. Can get a bit busy sometimes. Upstairs and downstairs also.

Fav special foodie stops

Check out the massive historic mill wheel and old stone building. Simply stunning. And there is a lovely walk starting just behind the Mill if you feel like a stroll. The restaurant is quite expensive, but very special.

Local cider

If you live ciders, definitely try Sidewood. It’s quickly become a fave on the local cider scene, and it’s a gorgeous place with expansive gardens to just chill. Great for kids also. Not far, about a ten min drive

An older pub that hasn’t had the groovy new refurbishments, but very warm fireplace in winter. Located right at the heart of the Adelaide Hills leg of Tour Down Under. A lovely beer garden also. About five mins away in the little town of Aldgate.

Best local walk

Just at the end of Honeysuckle Grove! We are so lucky to have the Heysen Trail right at our doorstop. You can follow the creek back to Bridgewater, then Aldgate or go the other way towards Mylor. Be careful of snakes in summer though amd on winter the creek gets very torrid. It you will nearly always see a local kookaburra, koala or other wildlife.
