Classic Dartmoor! Haytor can be busy in high season and weekends but its not difficult to get away from the crowds from here and its is easily accessible by car from the Dairy.

Stover Country Park is a short walk from Hartford Dairy (approximately 20 minutes). It is a nature reserve with level walking paths and a variety of birds to spot. There is a Pay and Display Car Park if you would prefer to drive there. TQ12 6QG

There are so many local places to eat and drink its difficult to pick out which ones to recommend but these are our favourites.
This is within easy walking distance of Hartford Dairy. It is a Yurt Camp hosting holiday makers but has a great cafe open to everyone. their pizzas are great and they offer home delivery on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Liverton Post and shop is an approximate 10 minute walk away. it has a good selection of food stocking most things you are likely to need including fresh bakery items, fresh fruit and vegetables. there is also a Fish and Chip van which comes to the Post Office between 6pm and 6.45pm on Friday evenings.
