We loved this old fishing village, the little house are so cute and each one looks different, we had so much fun just walking up and down the passages exploring each one.

The staff are great providing good information on the exhibits here into history on crime and punishment meted out here in the dim and distant past. Amazingly people were banished to the colonies for petty crimes.
The rich who were jailed in 1700s were given a huge key so they could come out during the day but came back at night.
Also some great maps showin details of Aberdeen in early 1700s and how it developed over time. Especially maps of Old Aberdeen known as Futtie then and now as Fittie. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Balmedie
A stretch of sandy beach north of the city.
Followed the treasure trail which took us to some really interesting parts of Aberdeen- loved the old high street and the memorial garden. The university is lovely.

I did wonder what the new gallery would be like, as before it was a favourite place to visit, when in Aberdeen and with the loss of the white marble staircase I was not sure what to expect. But on visiting, I must say I love it, yes I still miss the marble staircase, but the new space and set out is better than I imagined it would be. In the shop although smaller you can still find the unusual gift. I look forward to visiting it again, when we can. I feel I missed alot when I had a quick look around before.

SchoolhillI did wonder what the new gallery would be like, as before it was a favourite place to visit, when in Aberdeen and with the loss of the white marble staircase I was not sure what to expect. But on visiting, I must say I love it, yes I still miss the marble staircase, but the new space and set out is better than I imagined it would be. The service is warm, friendly and fun. The decor is so nice and it’s a nice size, has a personal & relaxed feel to it which is lovely.
The burgers are fantastic and come with the most delicious rosemary salt chips!

This has been upgraded and is now much improved. This used to be where the market was held years ago and was a thriving place but is much quieter these days.
Has quite a few independent shops and some good eateries.

Had drinks & dinner in this pub. Second visit here since easing of lockdown measures. Excellent service from friendly & experienced staff who greeted us at the door & led us through to our table explaining the new safety measures as we went through the bar. We booked our table in advance through the brewery’s app & ordered our food and drinks the same way. The brewery is Greene King. The bill was also paid the same way. Whether for food or drinks only this I recommend this app, it makes life so much easier. Food & drinks were excellent. Thoroughly recommend this pub.

Absolute taste sensation from start to finish.. pimped up crumpets through to delicious hake in squid ink. Amazing flavour combos and unpretentious surroundings. Ace service too. 10/10

The team had gone all out to make sure social distancing worked and the system in place was spot on. The staff were very attentive and the beer spot on, Day Shift was pouring spot on (it really is a very good beer). Hope to be back soon for more of the same. Thanks again team.

We found this cafe by accident on a very cold day, and ordered the special hot chocolate. It was absolutely delicious and we received a very warm and friendly welcome. Will definitely go back.

Second time I’ve been here when visiting Aberdeen. Wonderful atmosphere and cosy environment, friendly staff and high quality bacon and eggs for a low price. Will definitely return when I’m back in Aberdeen.

Staff making sure the guidelines are followed and customers are safe. Felt very comfortable and safe and service, food were as excellent as always. Good to have well trained, friendly and competent staff. Well done the Hop team!!

Excellent wee cafe on the Green close to rail and bus stations. Veggie and vegan friendly but has range of meaty stuff as well. Very good Americano coffee and highly recommend the Vegan breakfast. Prices pretty reasonable but don’t sit beside the door if it’s cold and/or windy ( it often is in NE Scotand)! Just a bit airish....

My husband and I have been here many times now, and it never fails to please. The chicken tacos starter is simply to die for, so flavoursome and the chilli squid was beautiful too. We both had the red Thai curry which was simply delicious. The service is always great, cannot praise enough. I have said before that this is the best Thai restaurant in Aberdeen, and my opinion has not changed. Highly recommend, cannot wait to go back !

I have said before that this is the best Thai restaurant in Aberdeen, and my opinion has not changed. Highly recommend, cannot wait to go back !
This is our nearest place to eat and it's been very good but last year it wasn't so great. Menu change and other things. However after a few weeks of not going as it was poor we gave it a go last week. We both had an excellent burger and the service was great . So pleased to see the place picking up again.
