Gylly beach cafe - with a glass of wine, a bit of sun you would be challenged to beat this anywhere in the world. The staff are very efficient and friendly. They are following the Covid regulations to the letter, your temp is taken as you enter and contact details required. It feels a safe place and the chill out factor is amazing.
This is an excellent seafood restaurant. It is small so booking is a must.

If your organised and like shellfish this is for you. Book early or try for a cancellation Please note its temporarily closing at the end of May until Winter.

Sightseeing
On a stormy day the waves will engulf the previous town hall (looks more like a church). On a sunny day chill out on the harbour. Lots of good restaurants to choose from from Amelia's, my favourite Kota Kai or a good old pint at the ship. For those who like walking park for free at the Helston car park (opp the boating lake) and walk through the park to Porthleven for lunch and back (don't forget to stop at Loe Bar beach for more amazing views).

Coverack
This traditional Cornish village is a beautiful place to visit. On sunny days you can order takeway fish and chips from the award winning Lifeboat restaurant and sit on the harbour wall, sheltered from the wind and maybe even take your pint down there as well. Alternatively, the Paris Pub does good food and Ian and his team will give you a warm welcome.
Beaches
If you are an outdoor swimmer you can check out Gylly Beach, at high tide Castle Beach or head over to Flushing Beach. If the waves are too big head over to the locals beach at Grebe. There is a National Trust Car Park called Bosveal hidden away. The Helford has lots of hidden beaches. As you head away from the car park following the road, there is Grebe Beach or if you follow the road, Durgan Beach.

There is a National Trust Car Park called Bosveal hidden away. The Helford has lots of hidden beaches. As you head away from the car park following the road, there is Grebe Beach or if you follow the road, Durgan Beach.
If you don't mind a drive over to the North Coast, Holywell Bay has huge golden sand beaches. If your a walker in June/early July walk towards Newquay and discover Polyjoke (it does have its own car park) and the fields of poppies and marigolds. This is a lovely walk and if you time it for low tide you walk to the Gantry at Newquay. Cross the river over the footbridge and head up the zig zag garden to the cafe at the top of the hill. Amazing crab sandwiches for seafood lovers.
