McNally's. Packsaddle Trail, 33E34, is a non-motorized multi-use trail that ascends from the Kern River to the Rincon Trail. It passes through several different biomes along the way. After hiking up a high desert slope, the trail passes down through a riparian zone, and on to the limestone cave. Enjoy all the subtle wonders of nature along the way, before seeing the dramatic packsaddle cave.

Pretty easy hike to the peak. There is a nice bench at the top, good place for a picnic. Kids would not have any trouble with this hike. There is some shade but not enough fo do this in the summer. Now (late March) there are some wild flowers but not many, too dry this year, but it's still beautiful. Recommended. We did a leisurely pace and spent a couple hours over all. It's about three miles to the peak and back. Only saw a few people, everyone social distanced. It was a good day. There are some good exercise points but very walkable

Beautiful hike at the peak of Alta Sierra. This is a moderate hike with fairly steep 700’ elevation incline to the top. It’s heavily treed and has beautiful views to admire along the way. Unal Trail is a 3.2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Wofford Heights, California that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, horses, and mountain biking and is best used from May until October. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail. Although it’s beautiful in the snow as well!
