Only 45 minutes from Blackfoot, Lava is a fun place to spend a rainy, cold day! In the summer they have a huge outdoor pool with diving platforms, and crazy slides, too. It is a favorite of locals to spend a winter day, too.

This is a small park but the rock is worth taking a look at if you enjoy pioneer history. Pioneers on the Oregon Trail stopped here to rest, cross the Snake River. To be remembered, they carved their names is this huge rock.

This is a lovely and peaceful place to spend a couple of hours. there are two commercial greenhouses filled with plants, a fountain, and birds necessary for an environment that supports butterflies. all the butterflies are native to North America. Randy and Karen Reed are beekeepers,too.

This park had about 20 acres of okay space. there is a walking trail, playground equipment, skatepark, reservoir and an amphitheatre.

The museim houses local artifacts dating from the turn of the century. the building was constructed as a home and is worth a visit to see how well the architect employed local materials like lava rock. hours of operation are limited so call first or visit their website.
