Sightseeing

Berry Head is on the South Western Coastal path and a place with beauty. It is a headland with a lighthouse and an amazing cafe to stop off for breakfast or an afternoon tea, either before continuing your day's trek or on your return.

Having taken the ferry to Dartmouth, taken a walk around the town with interesting, quaint streets and shops, a harbour and then the park to have a picnic if you have taken a 'One I prepared earlier' lunch, you could then go along to The Castle.

Greenway was Agatha Christies place of residence. If you are driving you MUST pre-book as it is the only way you can park your car, especially in the height of the season. You can get there by ferry also. It is a beautiful place and well worth the visit.

Neighbourhoods

Furzeham Park is less then five minutes walk behind my house where children can play on swings, slides, etc. There is a large playing field for kicking a football around, whilst adults can relax looking out to sea.

A replica of William The Orange's ship, The Golden Hind is in the harbour. This is a big tourist attraction. There are plenty of opportunities to go crabbing along the harbour wall, before you get to The Breakwater and beach. You will find toilets at The Breakwater Cafe where they serve fantastic food...especially crab salad or a Sunday Roast. Foe that one, you do have to book as they get extremely busy.

Dartington Glass is famous. Very fine pieces on display and for sale. You can see the products being made. If you go here, I strongly recommend you walk along the river back into Totnes which is a very arty, quirky town, NOT to be missed! Many artisan shops you won't find anywhere else. Give yourself at least two hours here.
