You can't hike into the main caldera of Kilauea, but you can hike down into Kilauea Iki. The entire loop is 4 miles but you just hike down and back. Very cool hike inside the crater with steam vents!

For great local food at a decent price, try Loko Wraps. It's a small take out place with some outside seating. Amazing Kalua Pork Tacos, just can's say enough about these! Everything is super fresh and local. They support local farmer's and they are on the top of our list for cheap, delicious, and fresh food!

If you are coming from the KOA airport, Costco is very close to the airport and a great stop for bulk buy savings if you have a membership already. If you are staying on island for a good amount of time, Costco is easily the best option on a budget.
