Some tips for Trujillo
Food
We always personally advise where to go and what to avoid. And every restaurant has its pros and contras. But if you wish to reserve in advance, some references come in handy. And you can contrast our input easily with what others think, using the internet.
It is our favourite. Good food, nice treat, vegetables on request.
And, important for foreigners: a nice courtyard terrace. Not cheap, but value for money.

If you feel like getting out of the stream of visitors, Restaurante Emilia is a nice alternative. A garden with lemon trees might top it off in summer.

A bit old fashioned in decoration, but what a heck if you are in a medieval town. Great food and if you're lucky served on a cosy terrace with views onto the bell tower of Santa Maria la Mayor.

Cheap and cheerful. Good price-quality ratio. Three course menu for a fair price. Also nice for breakfast (for we don't serve it). Perfect place for a toast with ham (tostada con jamón), because they actually do cut the ham off the leg when you ask for your toast.

The main square is magical, so a good place to start any adventure. With a gin-tonic with a surprising tapa, or a red wine with fine cheese and ham, for both options we have a special venue.

There is a bit of a guided-tour-war going on in Trujillo. Can't stand that, so we highlight two recommendations, totally different, but both good quality, and to be found at AirBnb to make a reservation.
Probably the most surprising guide you will find in Trujillo. Funny, original, spontaneous, different, probably sometimes just over the edge. You won't be bored, that's for sure. So if you want a guided tour with kids, this is your experience.

Drinks and nightlife
The Garcia Street (Calle García) is the oldest nightlife location of Trujillo. Some of it has moved to Sillerias Street, but for a special experience we recommend the site underneath.
Wonderful garden with views onto the castle and with an outside bar, but also a dance floor, so you van choose between sit and sip or drink and dance.
