Neuschwanstein is very touristic but really unique, its like cinderellas castle..I have been there with guests very often. Its embedded in a amazing nature. You are welcome to ask me about tipps. Furthermore afterwards you can eat something on the Forggensee. For me a better place with less tourists is the "Hopfensee" not far away. Its a great bavarian place near the wonderful Ammersee. You can make an easy and nice hike/ walk from Ammersee to Kloster Andechs, drink their own beer, have bavarian food & enjoy the view.
