Parks & Nature

High Park is Toronto's largest park and the lungs of the city. There are many hiking and bike trails, on and off the man-made path. It has a large pond (Grenadier Pond) that connects with the historic Humber River, and a small zoo. High Park is renowned for its gorgeous cherry blossoms in the spring time (end of April-early May). The closest entrance to High Park from your apartment is on Bloor St West.

My favourite Japanese-style cheesecake, where Toronto's hype is. His green tea matcha cheesecake is a must-try. His original cheesecake is nothing out of the ordinary (in my opinion). There's also an Angel cafe nearby which you should try (see the performances there too if you have time).

Named as the Entertainment District of Toronto, Queen Street West in my opinion has the best shops - from clothing, to coffee/desserts and book shops - like Type Books at 883 Queen St W, with another location at 427 Spadina Road. Spend your afternoon strolling along this street east to west for a time to remember!
